My favorite ceramic artist is Karen Karnes. I searched up ceramic artist and I liked her art the most. I like how she makes the pots, flower containers and jars. I like how the pots look like because that makes me think how my mom and family in Mexico cooked on those kind of pots. Karen Karnes was an American ceramist, best known for her earth toned stoneware ceramics. She was born in 1925 in New York City, where she attended art schools for children and she died 2016. “In 1967, Karnes first experimented with salt-firing at a workshop at the Penland School of Crafts.” Karen decided to live the rest of her life on a farm, working with clay and using old firing practices such as wood and salt firing and her house was already burned on the ground because of the kiln fire. http://www.lacostegallery.com/dynamic/artist.asp?ArtistID=75
